President's Update - November 28th

Lumsden Monarchs move to 6-0-0 with 6-2 victory over Marlins...On Tuesday evening the Lumsden Monarchs won their sixth game of the year with a 6-2 victory over Southey. Liam Brennan scored twice in the first period to give the Monarchs a 2-0 lead going into the second period. In the second period Southey got goals from Pat Thompson-Gale and Riley Mohr and Lumsden added a goal from Tyler Penny. Leading by one in the third period, Brody Luhning, Kyle Johnson and Tyler Penny would score to secure the win. Will Hood picked up the win in the Lumsden net stopping 20 shots.

President's Update November 22nd, 2018

We had five games this past weekend. On Friday evening the Strasbourg Maroons were in Raymore and lost 6-4 to the Rockets. Cody Mapes led the way with a pair of goals. Cole Boychuk, Blaze Bentz, Michael Jordan with a shorthanded goal and Tyrell Shulko with the only power play goal of the game and also was the winning goal also scored for the Rockets. Tucker Slough, Tyson Orban, Sean Delwo and Bryton Beattie scored for the Maroons. Each team had four power play opportunities. Dean Brothen picked up the win in net for the Rockets and Dallin Sorenson was in net for the Maroons.

President's Update - November 15th, 2018

Five games on the slate this weekend....on Friday evening the Strasbourg Maroons (0-1-0) are in Raymore to play the Rockets (1-0-1) and the Bethune Bulldogs (1-1-0) are in Southey to play the Marlins (0-1-0). On Saturday evening the Maroons will be in Cupar to play the Canucks (1-1-0), the Southey Marlins will be in Bethune and the Lumsden Monarchs (2-0-0) will be in Raymore to play the Rockets. All games begin at 8 p.m. Those versatile and wanted pocket schedules will be in your rink this weekend and if you don't have a home game they will be in businesses in your town.

Our 53rd Season starts Friday evening!

The Highway Hockey League begins another year of senior hockey on Friday evening with two games. The Bethune Bulldogs will be in Lumsden to play the Monarchsand the Cupar Canucks will visit the Raymore Rockets. Both games begin at 8:00 p.m. I don't have the first rosters in hand but I know there are a lot of changes this year and we will advise them as the season starts.

Exhibition Games

We will post everyone's exhibition games once we have everything....the following four games are confirmed:

Friday, October 26th Southey @ Odessa/Vibank 8:30 p.m. in Odessa
Saturday, October 27th Balgonie @ Lumsden 8:00 p.m.
Friday, November 2nd Lumsden @ Balgonie 8:30 p.m.
Saturday, November 3rd Odessa/Vibank @ Southey 8:00 p.m.

League Meeting

The Fall League meeting will be held in Southey on Wednesday, October 10th in Southey at the rink at 7:00 p.m.

Exhibition Game

On Thursday, September 20th there will be an exhibition game between the York Lions and the Univeristy of Regina Cougars at the Lumsden Rink at 7:30 p.m. This game is being hosted by the Strasbourg Rec Centre and by York University.
All proceeds from this event go towards the MARK CROSS FOUNDATION. There will also be various auction items at this event.

A wonderful evening....Thank you everyone....To all that did the planning, who volunteered, donated, sang, spoke and to all of you that were there and gave all night long...Thank you!

Players and Teams along with all of the volunteers you brought with you, thank you...your communities couldn't be more proud. It was a wonderful tribute...

 

President's Update - March 23rd, 2018

Bulldogs lead Robert Schultz Cup Final 2-0...The Bethune Bulldogs defeated the Raymore Rockets 6-2 in Bethune last Friday evening. On the following Tuesday evening in Raymore it took double overtime for the Bulldogs to win the second game 6-5. Game three is in Bethune on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. In game one.
