President's Update - January 29th, 2013

There were just three league games this past weekend. On Friday evening, the Cupar Canucks clinched their sixth League pennant and their first pennant since 2007 without playing as the Raymore Rockets went into Wynyard and defeated the Monarchs 5-2 eliminating Wynyard from their chance at first place. Raymore scored two quick goals in the first period as Josh Belair scored just ten seconds into the game and then Dallas Thiessen scored on the power play 3:40 into the period.

Announcement

As announced at the start of the season, the Highway Hockey League will be changing the name of some Awards trophies that do not presently have a formal name or that have a name of a commercial sponsor that may no longer be sponsoring a trophy with their name on the trophy. It is my pleasure to announce that beginning this year we have three trophies that we are proud to be renaming.
