We had four games on Friday evening….in Strasbourg, the Bethune Bulldogs scored twice in the last minute of the first period to take a 2-1 lead into the second period. Quinn McIntosh opened the scoring for the Maroons before Lucas Ulmer and Derek Fuchs, on the power play, scored for the Bulldogs. Jacob Ulmer had the only goal in the second period and the Bulldogs were up 3-1 going into the third period. The Maroons would take the lead early in the third period with three goals in 1:40.

On Friday evening the Raymore Rockets and Lumsden Monarchs met for the first time of the year in in Lumsden. The game featured 41 shots in the first period and a Rockets lead of 2-1 going into the second period. Rockets scoring came from Todd MacMurchy on the power play and a goal from Captain Josh Jordan. Lumsden actually scored first on a goal from Brady Aulie. The Monarchs outshot the Rockets in the second period and got three goals from David Clive, Stuart Poulin and Miguel Pereira.

The Southey Marlins scored two shorthanded goals and one power play goal to take a 3-0 lead on the Lumsden Monarchs on Friday evening only to see the Monarchs score once in the first period and three times in the second period to nip the Marlins 4-3 and secure their fourth win in a row. The Marlins scored three goals in their first game of the year….all even strength.

On Friday evening all teams were in action in the HHL. In Raymore, The Bethune Bulldogs won their third game of the year by scoring a shorthanded goal midway through the third period to clinch the win 3-2 over the Rockets. Tyler Dobrescu scored what would end up being the winner. Raymore came back to tie this game twice. Lucas Ulmer got the Bulldogs on the board in the first and Tyrell Shulko would answer that later in the period.
