Defending Champions force a Game 5....Saturday evening in Lumsden the Lumsden Monarchs defeated the Raymore Rockets 8-3 to force a game five in Raymore Monday evening in Raymore at 8:00 p.m....The Rockets controlled play early in the game and capitalized on a power play, their fifth goal on thirteen power play opportunities in this series, on a goal from Tyler Mueller, The Monarchs would tie the game four minutes later on a goal from Carter Hansen. Lumsden would go ahead 2-1 with a goal from Brody Luhning with just 37 seconds left in the second period. In the second period the turning point of the game came when Lumsden killed off a five minute major and then Braeden Adamyk scored his first goal of the series to put the Monarchs up 3-1. Five minutes later Adamyk would score his second goal of the game and the Monarchs would have a 4-1 lead going into the third period. Liam Brennan would scored an unassisted goal early in the third period. Brady Aulie would score a power play goal two minutes later and the Monarchs had a 6-1 lead. Lumsden would get another power play goal halfway through the period when Brody Luhning would score his second goal of the game. Ryley Storzuk would then score for the Rockets and that goal would be quickly followed by Adamyk's third goal of the evening, Damien Bentz would score late in the period for the Rockets and the final would be 8-3. Will Hood stopped 30 shots in the Lumsden net and picked up the win. Dean Brothen played the first 50 minutes of game and was relieved by Kevin Orthner for the last 10 minutes. There were 22 minor penalties called in the first three games and tonight there were 22 minor penalties assesed to both teams along with a major penalty and a game misconduct. Lumsden had 12 of those minor penalties and Raymore had ten.
We have a deciding game five on Monday evening in Raymore at 8:00 p.m. It's our last game of the season and we hope you can make it out for this game. Maybe come early, the burgers are good at the Raymore rink....!
