Playoffs begin Sunday/ Congratulations to our Tyson Sievert HHL Scoring Champion Trophy winner and the Gunnar Lindal Memorial Trophy for Team Goaltending winners....
The Bethune Bulldogs and Lumsden Monarchs begin their best of five semi-final Sunday evening in Lumsden at 6 p.m. The other semi-final will see the Southey Marlins vist the Raymore Rockets on Monday evening at 8 p.m. Game two of this series will be Wednesday evening in Southey.
Congratulations to Tyrell Shulko of the Raymore Rockets on winning the Tyson Sievert HHL Scoring Champion Trophy with 24 goals and 15 assists for 39 points. Michael Jordan is the last Rocket to win the scoring race in 2015. Congratulations to Will Hood and David Perkin of the Lumsden Monarchs on winning the Gunnar Lindal Memorial Trophy presented to the team with the best goaltending average. This will be the second time for Hood and it is the first time Perkin will have is name on the trophy. They had a team goaltending average of 3.28. All other league awards will be voted on next week.
In Provincials, the Southey Marlins opened up their best of three Provincial 'A' series with the Milestone Flyers with a 7-5 win on Thursday evening in Milestone. The Marlins have six Bethune players on their Provincial roster. Game two of this series is on Friday evening in Southey at 8 p.m. The Raymore Rockets opened their best of three Provincial 'A' series on Thursday evening in Raymore losing 5-4 on overtime. The Rockets tied the series with a 5-4 double overtime win over Drake in game two on Saturday evening. Game three of this series will be Friday evening in Raymore at 8 p.m. The Lumsden Monarchs will be playing Cabri in round two of Provincial 'A'.
