QVHHL Update - November 5th, 2021

Here is your update...The Strasbourg Maroons have decided to take a leave of absence for 2021-22. They join Raymore and Cupar that are already on leave and hoping to rejoin next year. The Balgonie Bison have also decided to take a leave of absence in the QVHL. That leaves seven teams between the two leagues. In order to play teams between the leagues we are joining together. For this year we are doing a full schedule with the QVHL of 18 games. We will keep our existing rules, merge some of those rules for this year and this will allow these seven teams to play in 2021-22. Our plans are to have playoffs as one league. It is our hope that next year we will have teams rejoin and we hope to keep working towards a joined league. For this year we will operate as the Qu'Appelle Valley Highway Hockey League.

Our schedule is posted on both sites. This week I will make sure all contact information is current and we will do a little touch up for this year's logo.

Thank you all for your patience. This process to have hockey this year has been lengthy and our goal now is to have a safe and competitive year of senior hockey. The pandemic has certainly affected a lot of teams participation in the province this year and we hope that these communities that don't have senior hockey this year will have it again next year. Always tough to get started after stopping but as long as their are people that have the passion for the senior game all should be in good hands in future.

Hopefully you can get out to some games this year. There will be rules in effect for each community and their facilities, please be safe and abide by those rules. We will continue to communicate via Twitter and keep all current with games in progress.

Thank you!
