President's Update - January 17th, 2020
Submitted by Gerry on Fri, 01/17/2020 - 14:27
We have four games on Friday evening. There are three interlocking games and they all begin at 8:30 p.m. Balcarres is in Lumsden, Bethune is in Balgonie and Raymore is in Odessa. We also have a game in Strasbourg where the Maroons host the Southey Marlins. On Saturday evening there are three interlocking games. Grenfell will be in Bethune to play the Bulldogs, Strasbourg visits Milestone and Balgonie will be in Southey. There is one interlocking game left and that will be next Friday in Odessa when the Bruins meet the Strasbourg Maroons.
After this weekend there are just seven league games left. We try to end the schedule at the end of January to accomodate Provincials. This year there are fewer teams in Provincial 'A' where three of our teams compete and the deadline for series to be complete in the first round is February 17th. We have three teams in Provincial 'A'. The Southey Marlins will face the Milestone Flyers and the Raymore Rockets play the Drake Canucks. The Lumsden Monarchs have a bye into the second round and will be playing the Cabri Bulls. Second round series must be completed by March 2nd. I do know that there will be some players from the Bethune Bulldogs playing with the Southey Marlins and I believe there will be some players from Strasbourg playing with the Davidson Cyclones. You can go to our Provincial page and see the times for all of the Provincial series involving our teams. There is also a link there to take you to all SHA Provincial draws.
Please follow us, especially on game nights, on Twitter https://Twitter.com/HighwayHockey or on the Pensky File https://Twitter.com/GeraldT Scores from games will be updated on Twitter and come up on the front page of our website if that is easier for you.
Thank you for supporting senior hockey and the HHL and please get out to a game near you.
