President's Update - November 15th, 2018

Five games on the slate this weekend....on Friday evening the Strasbourg Maroons (0-1-0) are in Raymore to play the Rockets (1-0-1) and the Bethune Bulldogs (1-1-0) are in Southey to play the Marlins (0-1-0). On Saturday evening the Maroons will be in Cupar to play the Canucks (1-1-0), the Southey Marlins will be in Bethune and the Lumsden Monarchs (2-0-0) will be in Raymore to play the Rockets. All games begin at 8 p.m. Those versatile and wanted pocket schedules will be in your rink this weekend and if you don't have a home game they will be in businesses in your town. Thank you to Dave at Last Mountain Times for getting these schedules done and thank you Holmes Polled Herefords for your sponsorship. Some of you have noted to me that our game sheets are not posted from the first weekend of play. Alas, we seem to have a technical problem and we have had a few to start the year but I assure you that our guy will have this fixed shortly....I too need these game sheets to do a proper blog! What I can tell you is that Barry has the first weekend of statistics up already and if one or two games of a twenty game schedule are enough of a sample size for you....it's there! Who had a big weekend scoring....Coltyn Sanderson from the Bulldogs posted six points in the two games he played. Tyler Bell and Josh Jordan from the Rockets and Lucas Ulmer from the Bulldogs had five points each in their games. Bell, Bulldog's Mike Reich and Bulldog's Captain/Coach Russ Nielson each had three goals to start the season.Jordan and Sanderson had five assists each. Our goalies had a good start to the season in general. Both Will Hood and Travis Bosch from the Monarchs picked up a win in their starting games. Tanner Kehler from Cupar survived an overtime and seven rounds of shoot out to post his first win. Dean Brothen from the Rockets may not have got the win but did record an 1.85 GAA for the game just as Tanner did. Curtis Koskie from the Bulldogs and Riley Focht-Gabriel from the Rockets also picked up their first win of the year.
