President's Update - January 30th, 2017

Early Provincial wins for Rockets and Bulldogs….Ferguson/Cross/Orban Show in Strasbourg...Playoffs are close...The Raymore Rockets defeated the Central Butte 4-3 last Wednesday evening in Raymore and then defeated the Flyers 4-2 this past Sunday in Central Butte and won their first round two game total point series 8-5. The Rockets now go on to the second round of Provincial ‘C’ against the Drake Canucks of the Long Lake Hockey League.Game one is Saturday at 8:00 p.m. in Drake.

President's Update - January 23rd, 2017

Provincials begin this week…The Raymore Rockets will host the Central Butte Flyers on Wednesday. This is a two game total point series in Provincial ‘C’. Game two of this series will be on Sunday in Central Butte at 3:00 p.m. The winner of this series will play the Drake Canucks of the Long Lake Hockey League. The Bethune Bulldogs play this Saturday evening in game one of a best of three series against the Davidson Cyclones in Bethune at 8:00 p.m.. The winner of this series plays the winner of the Milestone Flyers (QVHL) and the Bienfait Coalers (Big Six HL) in February.

President's Update - January 16th, 2017

Raymore Rockets pick up two wins on weekend….The Raymore Rockets defeated the Avonlea Arrows at home on Friday evening 4-2 and then defeated the Strasbourg Maroons 6-5 in a shootout on Saturday evening in Strasbourg to move to 9-5-0 and sole possession of third place one point behind the Lumsden Monarchs. On Friday evening the Rockets got two power play goals from Josh Belair and a goal from Tyrell Shulko to carry a 3-0 lead into the second period. Josh Jordan would score in the second period and Dryden Isley would score for the Arrows to make it 4-1 going to the third period.

President's Update - December 19th, 2016

Merry Christmas!...As we head into the holiday break until January 6th, we have completed 35 games of our 63 game schedule. There are two games to be played on Tuesday with Raymore in Lumsden and Avonlea in Cupar. The Bethune Bulldogs lead the way with a perfect 10-0-0 record. On Friday evening they had their closest opportunity to lose as they defeated the Strasbourg Maroons 4-3 in overtime. The Maroons are the first team to get a point in a Bulldog game this year.

President's Update - December 12th, 2016

Bulldogs, Monarchs and Maroons win weekend games...A very cold weekend saw six games played in the HHL and Bethune, Lumsden and Strasbourg solidified their hold on first, second and third place with victories. The third place Strasbourg Maroons played the Arrows in Avonlea on Friday evening and after giving up a 5-2 lead in the third period and forced into overtime; the Maroons got a goal from their leading scorer, Greg Ferguson, 57 seconds into the extra frame and pulled out a 6-5 victory.

President's Update - December 5th, 2016

There were two games in the Highway Hockey league on Friday evening. In Avonlea, the visiting Strasbourg Maroons were down early 1-0 but scored three goals in the first period and twice in the second period and held on to defeat the Arrows 5-4. The maroons got scoring from Tayler Balog and Tyson Orban and also scored three power play goals. Tanner Exner, Sean Delwo and Greg Ferguson with the game winning goal all scored on the power play. The Arrows scoring came from Mike Miller, Brett Kealey, James Dombowsky and Devin Cobbold.

President's Update - November 28th, 2016

The Bethune Bulldogs defeated the Strasbourg Maroons on Friday evening 8-2 in Strasbourg and defeated the Cupar Canucks 11-7 on Saturday evening to move to 4-0-0 and in a tie for first place with the Lumsden Monarchs who are at 4-1-0. In Strasbourg the Bulldogs were up 3-1 after the first and second periods and then scored five times in the third period. At home Saturday evening the Canucks had a 3-2 lead going into the second period getting goals from Matthew Boha, Devin Stecyk and Godric Tham. Russ Neilson scored twice for the Bulldogs in the first period.
