Bulldogs win Game one of Provincial ‘A’ Final…The Bethune Bulldogs defeated the Wilkie Outlaws 8-2 on Saturday evening in Bethune to take a 1-0 lead in the best of three Provincial ‘A’ Final. There was quite a lot of action in the first two minutes as Russ Nielson scored for the Bulldogs just 23 seconds into the game. Within a minute of that goal the Bulldogs were down two and Rory Gregoire scored a power play goal to even the game. 13:24 into the first period Drew George scored on the power play. The period ended with Bethune up 2-1 and leading in shots 14-7. 5:43 into the second period Brett Harrison would score on the power play for the Outlaws and the game was tied 2-2. After that the Bulldogs would score three times in just under five minutes with two goals from Mike Reich and a goal from Justin Schulhauser. Bethune led 5-2 after two periods and led on the shot clock 29-19. In the third period Matt Strueby would score on the power play and Matt Delahey and Brett Parker would score to make the final 8-2 Bulldogs. Final shots were 42-25 Bulldogs. Game two of this series is next Friday in Wilkie at 8:30 p.m.
The Raymore Rockets lost to the Delisle Bruins 6-5 on Friday evening in Delisle. Game two of this best of three Provincial ‘C’ Final is in Raymore this Friday at 8:30 p.m.
